A dark rider passes people of different stations, while light appears on the horizon. The central symbol is change of form, not literal death. In a reading it describes a transition from a structure that no longer works toward another way of living.
Upright meaning
Upright, Death can mark a phase reaching its end: finishing a project, giving up a habit or retiring an old self-image. Identify what is ending, recognize what it taught you and plan what comes next. This card does not predict physical death.
Reversed meaning
Reversed, this card may signal resistance to change or an urge to erase everything too quickly. Not every difficulty requires a total break. Keep what still helps, and close only the part that has genuinely run its course.
